LOL! Oh man, I've got it bad...
Okay, everyone if you didn't know I'm a WRITER. And I've got it bad. Here's a funny little story that really happened to me last night.
So it's no secret how much I love animals and animal related shows. Anything that teaches you about the species, a la National Geographic. Anyway I tend to suffer from a mild form of insomnia. Don't know why it is, but I'm ridiculously tired all day long and then right around 9 at night...BOOM! wide awake. Seriously wide awake. Can't sleep until around 4 or 5 in the morning. I've tried to take sleeping pills to combat this, but it only makes me groggy and feeling more like shit the next morning, so I usually just suffer through it...but I digress...
So last night I'm up to my old shinanigans and am watching this show called HUNTER, HUNTED. And it was about the Kodiak grizzly bears and the hunter's that go to this little island off the coast of Alaska to hunt deer and wind up being the one's hunted by the bears. Blah, blah, blah...(don't want to bore you all with the details of the show, just cause I'm weird and love anything animal related..lol)
Anyway, I'm finally ready for bed and go to sleep. Now here's where it gets weird. 2 hours after falling asleep I remember waking up, bolting upright is more like it, and thinking "ohhhhh, that would make a great idea for a book..." (I cannot remember what idea that was, or even why I woke up the way I did..lol) but for some reason I have sense enough to open my dresser drawer, take out my handy journal (I've got about 30 stashed throughout the house) and write something down, then I proceed to pass out and remember nothing.
I wake up this morning knowing I'd bolted upright and that I'd had a good plot idea come to me for the 3rd book in my Death Series, but I didn't know what it was. I couldn't remember a thing, except that I'd written something. I'm thinking there is no way that I could have written anything legible at that time of morning, but I go find it and lo and behold not only is it legible it's a DAMN good story idea, and coincidentally enough, it involves Kodiak bears and conservationist's, but hey, it's a shifter story, so it's perfect!
Now how's that for a writer story? Hehehehe...
So you guys ever do anything quirky to get an idea down before you forget it?
